Oceanlake Christian Gets New Pastor

The New Year, 2017, is here!  It is a time to reflect on all the blessings of 2016.  The Congregation of Oceanlake Christian Church has so much to be thankful for.

After months of prayer and an extensive pastor search, OCC has a new pastor.

Pastor Jim Hilliard and his wife, Kathy, come to us from West Richland, WA where he served as Worship Leader of the Richland Heights Baptist Church and Chaplain for the Tri-City Union Gospel Mission from2013-2016.  He was the pastor of the First Baptist Church of West Richland from 2002-2011.

Pastor Jim was ordained to the Gospel Ministry in 1988 and licensed to preach the gospel by Woodcrest Baptist Church.  He is half way through  a Masters of Divinity Degree from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary, a Bachelor of Arts from California Baptist University plus training at Billy Graham School of Evangelism and took part in a Church Start Support Ministry.

Pastor Jim has been a high school football and baseball coach, started a Food Bank in his community and served as a volunteer for Hospice.  He is a licensed life/health insurance agent and has substitute teaching credentials in the state of WA.

Pastor Jim plays the guitar and has composed thirty Christian songs.  He and Kathy sometimes start the Sunday service with one of his songs.

The Hilliards have found a home and are settling in to life on the Oregon Coast.  They have a 19 year old daughter, Sarah, attending Washington State University.
